4-Day Serengeti & Ngorongoro Camping Safari

Early departure from Arusha, driving through the Ngorongoro Highlands with a brief stop at the crater rim viewpoint. Enter the Serengeti through Naabi Hill Gate and enjoy an afternoon game drive across the southern plains. Depending on the season, you may encounter vast herds of wildebeest and zebra on the move. Set up camp at a Serengeti public campsite.

Wake before dawn for an early morning game drive — the best time for predator sightings. Explore the Seronera Valley, the Serengeti's wildlife hub, where the river attracts hippos, crocodiles, and the big cats that hunt along its banks. Look for leopards draped in sausage trees and cheetahs scanning the plains from termite mounds. Enjoy a packed lunch in the bush and continue driving through the afternoon. Return to camp for dinner under the stars.

Enjoy a final morning game drive in the Serengeti, then depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Drive along the rim road with incredible views into the crater below. Set up camp at Simba Campsite — one of the most scenic campsites in Africa, perched on the edge of the caldera. Watch the sunset paint the crater in golden hues.

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater at first light. Spend the morning driving across the crater floor — a 260 km² natural amphitheatre sheltering over 25,000 large mammals. Spot black rhino near the Lerai Forest, lion prides in the grasslands, and flamingos at Lake Magadi. Packed lunch at the hippo pool. Ascend from the crater and drive back to Arusha, arriving late afternoon.
