Terms & Conditions

1. About Inspiration Africa
Inspiration Africa is a safari and travel booking platform operated by Inspirations Africa, registered in Arusha, Tanzania. We connect travellers with verified, independent tour operators across East Africa through a network of specialist travel brands (our "spoke sites"). We act as an intermediary platform -- the safari or travel experience itself is provided by the tour operator listed on each booking.
2. Platform Operations
Inspiration Africa operates multiple specialist travel brands, each focused on a specific niche or destination. When you book through any of our brands, your booking is processed through the central Inspiration Africa platform. The following terms apply across all our brands:
- Each brand site may have supplementary terms specific to its niche (e.g., altitude climbing, water sports, golf). Those supplementary terms are in addition to and do not replace these platform terms.
- Tour operators are verified through our centralised vetting process, which includes business registration checks, licence validation, insurance confirmation, vehicle safety inspections, and review analysis.
- We facilitate communication between you and the operator but are not a party to the contract for the safari experience itself.
3. Operator Responsibilities
Tour operators listed on Inspiration Africa are independent businesses. While we verify operator credentials, licences, and safety standards, the operator is solely responsible for the delivery of the travel experience, including accommodation, guides, vehicles, meals, and safety. Each operator maintains their own professional liability insurance and vehicle insurance as required by Tanzanian and Kenyan law.
Booking Process & Confirmation
- Submitting a booking enquiry does not guarantee availability and does not constitute a binding contract.
- A booking is confirmed only when the operator issues written confirmation and the required deposit has been received.
- All prices are quoted in United States Dollars (USD) per person unless otherwise stated and are subject to change until a booking is confirmed.
- Prices may vary based on season, group size, accommodation type, and availability.
- We reserve the right to correct pricing errors before a booking is confirmed.
Payment Terms
- A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking.
- The remaining 70% balance is due no later than 60 days before the travel departure date.
- Bookings made within 60 days of departure require full payment at the time of booking.
- Payments are processed securely via PesaPal and DPO Group payment gateways. We do not store your credit card details.
- Park fees, government levies, and conservation fees are subject to change without notice by the relevant authorities and will be passed on at cost if they change after your booking is confirmed.
- Failure to make payment by the due date may result in automatic cancellation of your booking.
Cancellation Policy
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email. The following cancellation fees apply based on the notice period before the scheduled departure date:
- 60 or more days before departure: 25% cancellation fee (deposit forfeited).
- 30 to 59 days before departure: 50% of the total booking cost.
- Less than 30 days before departure: 100% of the total booking cost (no refund).
Certain elements of your booking, including but not limited to national park permits, gorilla trekking permits, internal flights, and special activity permits, may be non-refundable once issued by the relevant authority, regardless of the cancellation timing.
If we or the operator must cancel a booking due to circumstances within our control, you will be offered a full refund or the option to reschedule at no additional cost.
Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and in many cases mandatory for all bookings. Your policy should cover, at a minimum:
- Medical expenses and hospitalisation
- Emergency medical evacuation, including air ambulance from remote areas
- Trip cancellation and interruption
- Personal liability
- Loss or damage to personal belongings and luggage
We may request proof of adequate travel insurance before your departure. Inspirations Africa is not liable for any costs arising from inadequate or absent insurance coverage.
Traveller Responsibilities
- You are responsible for obtaining valid travel documents including a passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates), visas, and any required vaccinations (e.g., Yellow Fever for East Africa entry).
- You must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, mobility limitations, or dietary requirements that may affect your travel experience at the time of booking.
- You agree to follow the safety instructions of your guide and operator at all times.
- You are responsible for your personal belongings and valuables throughout the trip.
Limitation of Liability
Inspirations Africa acts as an intermediary connecting travellers with independent tour operators. We exercise due diligence in vetting all operators on our platform, including verification of business registration, licences, insurance, and safety standards.
However, we are not liable for:
- The actions, omissions, or negligence of third-party tour operators, accommodation providers, transport companies, or activity providers.
- Any loss, damage, injury, illness, delay, or death arising directly or indirectly from the safari or travel experience.
- Force majeure events including but not limited to natural disasters, epidemics, civil unrest, government actions, strikes, or adverse weather conditions.
Our total financial liability is limited to the platform facilitation fee. The tour operator carries their own professional liability and vehicle insurance.
